Shipley nestles in the Aire Valley just four miles from Bradford. It developed as a textile centre around the time of Bradford's industrial boom. Nowadays Shipley is a bustling small town with local shops and amenities many of which are clustered around the open market square and clock tower.
The town is also the starting point for pleasure cruises along the Leeds-Liverpool Canal. Shipley Glen is another popular outdoor attraction where you can take a Victorian tram ride to the open countryside of Shipley Glen and Baildon Moor.
